Caitlin Clark is still extremely early into the first season of her WNBA career, but she has racked up technical fouls at a rather alarming rate that could land her a suspension in the near future if she is not careful.
During Thursday night’s loss to the Seattle Storm, Caitlin Clark picked up a technical foul when she got in a slight altercation and heated exchange with Storm guard Victoria Vivians. The foul itself wasn’t exactly consequential to the game as it was a double technical and no foul shots were awarded, but it did add to Clark’s growing season total.
With the technical foul she picked up on Thursday night, Clark now has three technical fouls on the season, just nine games into her WNBA career. This could be a problem for Clark in the near future as she could earn herself a suspension if she keeps racking up technical fouls.
The WNBA policy gives players a one-game suspension after they accumulate seven technical fouls in a single season. Clark is currently averaging one technical foul every three games. Given that there are 31 games remaining on the schedule, Clark would surely earn herself a suspension if she does not adjust the way she behaves on the court.
At her current rate, Clark would barely make it another month before earning that one-game suspension. We’ll have to see if she makes any changes.
