Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have a long rivalry on the court going back to their matchup in the 2022 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship Game. And that rivalry added another chapter on Sunday when Reese was called for a flagrant foul after hitting Clark in the head during a layup attempt in Sunday’s game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky. But it doesn’t sound like there are any hard feelings.
In her postgame press conference, Caitlin Clark made it clear that she did not see anything malicious about the foul, saying it was “just a part of basketball.
“Just a part of basketball. It is what it is. Trying to make a play on the ball, get the block. It happens,” Clark said according to Stephen Holder of ESPN.
More on her rivalry with Reese: “I think it’s just the emotion and the passion that we play with. I think people love to see that. And I think that’s maybe not something that was always appreciated in women’s sports and it should be.”

Clark went on to speak highly of Reese and her competitiveness as she opened up about the rivalry the two of them share on the court.
“I think it’s just the emotion and the passion that we play with. I think people love to see that. And I think that’s maybe not something that was always appreciated in women’s sports and it should be,” Clark said.
It’s quite a classy response from Clark.
