This video comes from earlier this year but somehow I hadn’t seen it yet and decided it was worth sharing just in case you haven’t either. It shows a youth hockey player in Ontario exhibiting fantastic sportsmanship when she sees an opponent fall to the ice and struggle to get back to her feet. While the game’s play continues and other players skate around them, the girl in white skates over to the fallen opponent and offers a helping hand to get her back on her feet. It takes a few tries but the girl in green is eventually helped up and rejoins play.
According to the video’s uploader, who claims to be the girl in white’s father, the awesome display of sportsmanship earned his daughter Player of the Game honors, which just makes this so much better.
