This post isn’t so much about a Wimbledon linesman getting hit in the head by a wayward toss from Nick Kyrgios but instead that patrons at the proper All England Club managed not only a smile, but a full laugh.
During his opening round victory over Diego Schwartzman, Kyrgios lofted a ball out of play that bonked a linesman on the head. The doink itself was adequately amusing but the crowd’s jovial response was even better, as the historically-respectful folks at the 150-year-old venue erupted in laughter instead of reacting in a more mature and honorable way:
