If you constantly heckle an MMA competitor via text messages, be prepared to be challenged to a fight. If you accept that challenge, be prepared to get your ass handed to you.
A critic of Josh Neer’s learned that lesson the very hard way this week when he accepted the 31-year old fighter’s invitation to strap on the gloves with him at an Iowa gym and was promptly beaten into submission. The 6’6, 270 lb. heckler, named Patrick Martin, had reportedly been insulting Neer through Facebook for months – even going as far as to call him a “f**king joke” – before showing up to challenge the former UFC fighter.
Neer posted a short video of the ensuing fight – which, as you can see above, did NOT go well for Martin – as well as some of the messages he received from the Internet bully.
Not exactly kind words from Martin, so it’s understandable that Neer was pretty fired up to get his revenge. With that being said, that extra kick to the head while Martin was already down and out was kind of a dick move.
