Stephen Paea turned more than a few coaches heads at the NFL combine this year by breaking the bench press record with an incredible 49 reps of 225 lbs. The Oregon State DT already was defensive player of the year in the Pac-10 last year, and did not hurt his draft position with the beastly performance. According to SB Nation “Eastern Kentucky’s Justin Ernest did 51 reps at 225 pounds back in 1999,” however it is undocumented. Regardless, Stephen is one strong young gentleman.
