Henry Yu, who is a lifelong San Francisco Giants decided to hire a plane to fly over Dodger Stadium with a banner saying “Dodgers Still Suck – From SF Champs.” The plane flew around Chavez Ravine a couple hours before the game started. The Dodgers got the last laugh though winning their opener 2-1.
“This is for all the Giants fans like me,” Yu said. “Who’ve taken so much verbal abuse over the years.” He reportedly paid a little more than $1,000 to hire the plane. There is video below:
Yu’s flyby, which began about two hours before the game, was preceded by the preemptive flyby of an another airplane that carried a sign saying: “LA 5, SF 1, GO DODGERS,” which refers to the number of World Series won by both teams since they moved west in 1958.
