The Oak Ridge middle school football team of Marion, Iowa recently ran this play during an actual game and it somehow worked.
Not counting the snap, the football exchanged three pairs of hands before it was rifled all the way down the field to a wide open receiver and one poor defender caught in no man’s land.
According to Max Preps, the play is called the “Cannon.” Based on how effortlessly and smoothly Oak Ridge ran the “Cannon,” it’s a play that the team should probably attempt at least five or six times a game.
