Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was struck in the face with an object during their Game 3 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas. During the fourth quarter, Cuban got into a heated war of words with some Blazers fans near where he was sitting and was shortly after hit in the head from an object.
Cuban said after the game:
“I don’t know what it was, but something hit me in the face,.
He was also reportedly encouraging the fans to boo him and extra security were placed in the area of the Dallas bench. I’m not saying that he deserved to be hit with anything, but when someone is as visible and passionate about their team, tempers can flare up and incidents are bound to happen. My money says the Blazers fan who threw the object was also a sports blogger.
