The London Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG), responsible for organizing the 2012 Olympics in London, released a document that bans the use of mobile phones, flasks, musical instruments, and other items that many sports fans need to get through the day. It will be extremely difficult for LOCOG to enforce the ban on mobile devices since everyone carries them. The Terms and Conditions document says the following items are banned:
“food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, liquids in containers of greater than 100ml in size, umbrellas, horns, whistles, drums, rattles, musical instruments, or any other devices that in the opinion of Locog may disturb a Session (including mobile telephones), flasks, thermoses and in general any material that Locog may deem dangerous or that may cause damage or disruption to a Session.”

I am on the phone with my travel agent canceling my trip to the Olympics. I will be watching them on TV instead.
