To their credit, the New York Jets have done a good amount of talking for a team whose last meeting with the Patriots resulted in a 45-3 prison-break style beat down. You have to have short term memory to survive and succeed in the NFL, and the Jets seemingly have that. Jets coach and toe bed connoisseur Rex Ryan has eased up on the talk, but Jets cornerback and active sperm donor Antonio Cromartie has not followed suit. In an interview with the New York Daily news yesterday, Cromartie gave Tom Brady about as much public critiscm as Brady has ever received…outside of his hair.
When asked about Brady’s habit of sometimes pointing to the opposing team’s sideline after a Patriots score, Cromartie had some very pointed comments. Below is an excerpt from the Daily News article:
“We see that a lot. He does it a lot,” Cromartie said. “That’s the kind of guy he is. We really don’t give a damn, to tell you the truth.”
Okay, what kind of guy is Brady?
“An ass—-.
“—- him.”
“That’s what I think about him. I don’t really give a damn about him,” he said. “I don’t have to play against him. I play against the receivers.”
Well, Brady is the one throwing to those receivers. “Yeah, but if I beat the s— out of his receivers, he can’t throw the ball,” Cromartie said.
Will Tom Brady clap back? My guess is that he won’t, well at least not with words…he will most likely throw several touchdowns targeting Cromartie and then quietly point at the Jets sideline. Either way, can’t wait for this weekend.
