A police officer in Texas has been placed on leave as he is under investigation for tripping several high school students rushing the field to celebrate their school’s girls soccer team winning their first state title.
In the video above, you’ll see pretty clear evidence that Georgetown cop George Bermudez tripped and shoved several Vandegrift High School students as they attempted to rush the field following the championship game. None of the students appeared to be seriously injured, but it was certainly not behavior you’d hope to see from a man expected to protect and serve the community. Also, not exactly the conduct you’d expect from the officer Georgetown’s department named Officer of the Year last year.
