The Los Angeles Dodgers are moving forward with plans to honor The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence – an LGBTQ group that parodies and satirizes Christian and Catholic imagery. One Christian group created a commercial to protest the team’s decision to honor the group, but that commercial will not be aired.

CatholicVote recently created a one-minute advertisement to protest the team’s decision. The commercial, called “The Dodgers Have Lost Their Way,” called out the team for honoring the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

Spectrum SportsNet LA, the sports network that carries Dodgers games in the LA market, has decided not to air the commercial, claiming that the “subject matter” in the ad was “too controversial.”

CatholicVote had a pretty strong response to this decision, claiming they “weren’t shocked” by the move.

“We weren’t shocked that the Dodgers’ affiliate canceled our ad because the Dodgers have shown repeatedly that they only care about the feelings of these extremist bigots,” Tommy Valentine of CatholicVote told Fox.

Instead, the group shared the advertisement on social media, where they claim it has received “millions of views.”

“We pivoted quickly and already have millions of views of the ad across various platforms. We will not be silenced, and we will not stand idly by while the Dodgers show their contempt for Catholics.”
