Green, who is now 61, stepped down three days after his Orediggers ended the season with a 27-21 victory over Montana Western. In 24 seasons at Tech, Green’s teams compiled a record of 140-116-1. Under Green the Orediggers won or shared six Frontier Conference championships, compiled a league record of 104-73 and qualified for the NAIA national playoffs five times.
However, most memorable will of course always be Green’s gift of gab which fans and media have lovingly dubbed “Greenisms.”
Check out the below video to see what you may have been missing for the past 24 years. The local Montana TV stations put these together at the end of every football season.
