On Thursday, December 1, 1955, a woman named Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. She was arrested, since buses and most other public places were still segregated. The arrest sparked a 381 day boycott of the bus system. A gentleman named Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was named the spokesman of the boycott, which quickly spread across the country and sparked a nationwide call for equal rights for all citizens.
We here at Cosby Sweaters wanted to take a moment and tip our hats to the late Miss Parks.
