This is a pretty crazy video from Gulf Breeze, Florida showing a DUI suspect attempting to flee from a traffic stop and basically running over the police officer in a crowded intersection.
The officer, Sgt. Kerstan Tatro, stopped the woman after spotting her driving erratically and attempted to grab her car keys out of the ignition when he noticed that she was trying to make a run for it. Tatro got dragged for a few feet before falling hard to the pavement, breaking his arm. The driver peeled away and was followed by two drivers who saw it all go down at the intersection.
But the most bizarre part of the incident comes when one of the many citizens who stop to help Tatro happens to be his daughter. As you can imagine, she got pretty freaked out and emotional when she spotted her father and had to be consoled by a couple of other people standing nearby.
As for the DUI suspect, the cars that tailed her called 911 and saw her pull into a hotel parking lot, where she was arrested moments later.
You never like to see stuff like this happen but the silver lining – if you want to find one – is that a lot of people came to the aid of this cop and the woman behind the wheel wound up behind bars.
