Google is offering support to those Pixel phone owners who need repairs in the midst of tragedy.
According to The Verge, Google has teamed up with UBreakiFix locations in Houston to offer free repairs on Google branded Pixel phones to those who’s were damaged in Hurricane Harvey. UBreakiFix will offer the surfaces across seven Houston locations.
Gestures like this one and the one made by other companies such as Airbnb who offered a ‘free housing program,’ are touching. The massive companies are under no obligation to offer free services to those in need, but considering the circumstances, they’ve stepped up and waved high, costs for needed services. They deserve major props for that.
In the face of adversity, seeing everybody help from big companies like Google to individual people in Houston is amazing. It doesn’t matter how big or small you are, you can make a difference in helping. Waiving fees on Pixel phones repair will allow people with damaged phones to contact loved ones and start the road to recovery. Again, well done, Google.
