Meet Peruvian goalkeeper Juan Flores. He plays for Unión Comercio, and he recently had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day at the office. Watch as Flores gathers the ball, nonchalantly dribbles it back in the direction of his own net and whiffs on a pass, giving the ball away to a defender with a clear path to the goal.
That right there, ladies and gentlemen, is why athletes are told from a very young age not to “play with” the ball in their own end.
