Chile defender Gonzalo Jara pulled off one of the best tactical maneuvers of all time in the Uruguay-Chile, Copa America quarterfinal match when he managed to get Uruguay’s Edinson Cavani ejected. Jara first slapped him on the butt, and proceeded to take a dive when Cavani gives him a little slap on the face to stop him. But because of Jara’s great acting performance, the referee took notice and sent off Cavani with his second yellow card.
Witness the performance for yourself.
Jara’s stunt worked out in his favor in every possible way. Chile scored and knocked Uruguay out of the Copa America only minutes after he was ejected.
