Clint Dempsey and the Seattle Sounders didn’t enjoy their Tuesday night. The team was forced to finish the match with only seven men after Brad Evans, Micheal Azira and Dempsey all received red cards and Obafemi Martins exited with an injury. Unsurprisingly, they fell to Portland 3-1 in being eliminated from the U.S. Open Cup, but it was still a very entertaining affair, one highlighted by Dempsey throwing and ripping up the referee’s notebook.
