U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, of Texas, speaks Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, at a rally in support of Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt's reelection at Crossroads Church in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoman

Over the past several months, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has had some pretty horrible luck regarding his favorite sports teams as the Houston Astros lost every single postseason baseball game he attended last year – including their Game 7 loss to the Texas Rangers in the World Series – and the Texas Longhorns fell to the Washington Huskies in the College Football Playoff. And it looks like it has happened again.

This week, Ted Cruz expressed his support for the Dallas Cowboys on social media moments before the team suffered a blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs despite entering the game as heavy favorites and riding a 16-game home winning streak.

“Let’s go @dallascowboys! #SeizeEverything,” Cruz said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, it’s awful news for Cruz that the Cowboys lost on Sunday, not just because he was supporting them but because it led to a ton of reactions on social media of people claiming that Dallas was the latest victim of the Cruz sports curse.

While the Cowboys may have fallen victim to the Cruz curse, it’s worth noting that Cruz also expressed his support for the Houston Texans who won in a blowout over the Cleveland Browns. So maybe the Texans are simply immune to the curse.
