Taylor Swift is arguably the most famous and popular woman on the planet, and her popularity has only grown since she began dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Given her insane popularity, many people are wondering when or if she will endorse a candidate in the upcoming presidential election. But the last time she made a political statement, it came with a warning from her parents.
A few years ago, Taylor Swift decided to speak out in support of Democrats in Tennessee with a lengthy statement. But that decision to publicly support the Democrats left her father terrified for the safety of his daughter.
“I’ve read the entire [statement] and … right now, I’m terrified. I’m the guy that went out and bought armored cars,” Swift’s dad, Scott, told her daughter back in 2018.
Obviously, Swift has only grown in popularity since she boldly proclaimed her support for the Democrats in 2018. If she does indeed come out and offer her support to Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential election, it would likely get even more attention then her political statement did back then.
We’ll have to see whether or not Swift decides to officially endorse a candidate this election cycle.
