Michael Phelps is a phenomenon. With almost 30 Olympic medals under his belt and the world’s attention at his every flip turn, the man is a spectacle to watch. When watching, however, it’s sometimes easy to forget that just how hard the man has worked.
Under Armour’s newest ad is here to remind you for every stroke we see Phelps take, there has been thousands of hours swimming, exercising, and lifting to make him the aquatic monster he is today. It’s also reminder to anyone that you have to put in work when no one’s watching to shine when they are.
It’s a simple but effective view into his “dark world,” which may be the reason he puts on such a badass game face before he destroys other swimmers. You can find some of the best reactions from Twitter to said face in the deck below.
