Slovakia and Russia faced off in the final round of Olympic preliminary round matchups on Sunday morning, when we were treated to this fantastic highlight courtesy of Slovak goaltender Jan Laco.
After failing to make a clean play on a puck behind his net, Laco resorted to unleashing this textbook butt check to Russian forward Alexei Tereshenko. It wasn’t exactly legal (and, thankfully, nobody was hurt) but we’ll overlook that since it was – and still is – hella entertaining to watch.
Russia ended up sneaking away with a 1-0 victory in the shootout.
