This month, United States President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race and paved the way for Vice President Kamala Harris to take the Democratic nomination and challenge Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. And it sounds like she has the full support of Team USA captain Diana Taurasi.
Diana Taurasi is helping lead the United States Women’s Basketball Team as they go for their seventh consecutive gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but she also took the time to address what’s happening back at home in the political world. When asked her opinions on the upcoming presidential election and Kamala Harris taking over as the Democratic nominee, Taurasi did not hold back.
“What are you going to do for the people of America that need you? And I think there’s a big portion of us that see a lot of us in her and what she wants to do with our country,” Taurasi said according to CNN. “For me, that is one of the proudest and most amazing moments, so yeah, we’re going to back her and we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins and we go forward in this country in the right way.”
Clearly, Taurasi is excited to support Harris in the election and wants to make sure she wins.
