Over the past few seasons, Caitlin Clark has emerged as perhaps the biggest superstar women’s college basketball has ever seen, bringing a surge in attention to women’s basketball. She’s now set to take the next step in her career as the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft, but it sounds like she has her sights set on another goal: the Olympics.
The United States Olympic team has not yet been set for the upcoming summer Olympics, but it sounds like Caitlin Clark would be more than willing to accept an invitation if she’s given one.
“That’s one of my dreams as a kid. Growing up, you always want to be an Olympic gold medalist. Lucky enough, I’ve been able to play for a few junior national teams in their basketball system, so I know how special it is to represent USA across your chest,” Clark said in a recent interview with the Today Show, according to The Spun.
“Being able to do that on the highest level would certainly be a dream come true.”
We’ll have to see whether or not Clark is chosen for the Olympic team after the way she dominated her way through college basketball.
