Here’s a pretty funny moment from last night’s Oilers-Panthers game in Edmonton; During the first period, Oilers youngster Ryan Nugent-Hopkins found himself in a bit of a situation – Tomas Fleischmann’s stick snaked under his visor and got wedged under the helmet.
Hopkins tried to get the stick free but couldn’t, so he instead just ripped off his helmet, threw it to the ground, and played bucketless for the rest of his shift.
A similar situation arose a couple of years ago with Henrik Sedin in Vancouver. I’m sure that’s annoying as all hell for a player, but it’s quite entertaining for those of us watching.
