With the Maple Leafs needing pretty much every point they can get to stay in the playoff hunt with a handful of games remaining this season, Toronto mayor Rob Ford was in attendance at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday night to watch his hometown team take on the Winnipeg Jets. At least he was until his removal by security for being too drunk.
Ford, never one for moderation, was escorted out of the ACC around the second intermission after he was visibly intoxicated. He returned to the building during the third period but was reportedly cut off from being served more alcohol.
Overheard while ordering a beer at the ACC: "Mayor Ford has been cut off, do not serve him any more alcohol". #ofcourse #gojetsgo

The Maple Leafs were dealt a serious blow to their playoff hopes with a 4-2 loss to the Jets, so maybe Ford drank so much to help deal with the stress of being a Leafs fan. But, more likely, it was because he’s still Rob Ford – the ridiculous gift that keeps on giving.
Obviously, this isn’t the first time that Ford has been drunk, but it’s also not the first time that he’s been out of control at a Leafs game. Back in 2006, Ford – then a Toronto city councillor – denied, then later admitted, causing a “drunken ruckus” before being kicked out of the ACC.
