Patrick Roy is the current head coach of the Colorado Avalanche but might be best known for being the goaltender of that team and leading them to two Stanley Cups. Roy, in preparation for the team’s alumni game against the Detroit Red Wings, took to the ice today to take some shots.

It’s pretty awesome seeing Roy back in net wearing his famous Koho pads. If you need a reminder of how dominant Roy was when he played, here’s a little video that should jog your memory:
Also, the matchup between the Wings and the Avs should be getting a lot more play than it is. Back in the 1990s and early 2000s, the rivalry between these two teams was one of the most intense in sports with Roy being right in the middle of it.
