Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury really wanted to fight his counterpart, Montreal Canadiens goalie Peter Budaj, during the third period of the Pens’ blowout win over the Habs on Wednesday night.
Unfortunately for Fleury, a referee in Pittsburgh had other ideas.
The ref attempted to restrain Fleury, who discarded several pieces of his equipment in an attempt to escape the stripes’ pursuit. It was a bizarre scene but, alas, the referee emerged as the victor when he was able to grab a hold of the goaltender and deprive us of a good old fashioned goalie brawl.
(Booooooooo.)
