The Arizona Coyotes are not having a great season and it may have reached a new low on Saturday night against the Penguins.
Nearly halfway through the second period of their game against the Penguins, Coyotes goalie Mike Smith attempted to clear the puck from behind the goal line while shorthanded. Instead, he fired the puck straight off of the Penguins’ Brandon Sutter and watched the deflection bounce straight into his own net for the game-tying goal.
It was one of the easiest goals Sutter will ever score in his career and (hopefully) one of the most embarrassing Smith will ever give up.
