Alexander Ovechkin had two goals during Tuesday night’s contest between the Capitals and the Edmonton Oilers, both of them coming in the first period to give the Capitals an early advantage. The second goal came on the power play in the form of a scorching one-timer from what we’ve come to know as “Oveckin’s office” just above the left faceoff dot, a place where OV has scored a countless number of goals.
However, it wasn’t just the Oilers who paid for leaving Ovechkin free to fire away from his favorite spot on the ice – an in-net camera was also victimized by the Russian’s heavy shot. If you’ve ever wondered what it would look like seeing one of the world’s most dangerous hockey players firing a slapper right at your face…wonder no more:
The Oilers would manage to overcome the 2-0 deficit that Ovechkin and the Capitals put them in, eventually winning 5-4 in the shootout.
