The second period of Saturday night’s AHL game between the Rockford Ice Hogs and the Lake Erie Monsters was a classic example of a hockey fight at its best. As the period came to a close, a short line brawl broke out amongst the remaining players on the ice before the refs came in to break it up. Someone made the mistake of taking their eyes off of Patrick Bordeleau, who went charging after Rockford’s Dylan Olsen and took him behind the woodshed. Blackhawks fans: you know this doesn’t sit well with Andrew Shaw. Leave it to him to leap off the bench and take matters into his own hands. Remember the Mike Smith incident? You don’t want to mess with this kid.
Being the first to leave the bench and clearly doing the most destruction, Shaw was suspended for six games, which of course prompted the resurfacing of a little thing called #ShawFacts. #ShawFacts started early this year when he was called up from the AHL to join the Blackhawks and made a big impression for a rookie drafted in the fifth round. Inspired by The Most Interesting Man In The World, here are some funny/painfully stupid #ShawFacts from around the internet:
You get the idea.
