Veteran All-Pro defensive lineman Vince Wilfork has asked the Patriots to release him after ten seasons with the team, according to reports that have surfaced on Thursday. If the reports are true, the team will likely oblige and make big Vince available on the open market.
This means we’ll get to see plenty of Wilfork’s career highlights in New England as he pursues (and eventually lands) a new contract, but we should never forget the best of them all – this interception of Philip Rivers back in 2011, set to the tune of ‘Chariots of Fire.’
It’s beautiful.
