It’s been a relatively mild winter in beautiful Minnesota but things will be taking a turn for the worst in the coming days and it could dramatically impact Sunday’s Wild Card game in Minneapolis. The Vikings are set to host the Seahawks at 12:05 PM CT, with the time being a mini blessing because the frigid temperatures would be far worse in the afternoon or evening.
The coldest game, in terms of pure temperature and not considering wind chill, remains the 1967 Ice Bowl. Temperatures reached minus-13 degrees on Dec. 31, 1967 during the Packers’ win over Dallas in the NFL Championship Game.
Various weather services can’t seem to agree on a forecast for Sunday but a couple, including Accu Weather, is predicting that TCF Bank Stadium could host the coldest game in NFL history:

Even if they fail to reach those insane temperatures, it will be a freezing game that should make life miserable for both teams.
