New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick took questions from the media in regards to Deflate-gate on Thursday, but he may have not even been the star of his own press conference.
Viewers couldn’t help but notice the backdrop of Belichick’s press conference. As luck/fate would have it, the backing to Belichick’s press conference was sponsored by Gillette #Flexball, which is apparently the company’s newest shaving technology.
And while it probably wasn’t the brand synergy that the Patriots and Gillette were hoping for when they agreed to press conference ad placement, Twitter couldn’t help but be amused by the sight of the Patriots head coach taking questions on deflated footballs while #Flexball was stamped all over his backdrop.
Here are some of the best takes on the truly timely branding moment.
