Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce got to spend their first Christmas together as a couple in a pretty unique way as Swift got to watch Kelce take on the Las Vegas Raiders in a showdown on Christmas day. Unfortunately for them, that day was “ruined” by the Raiders.
During a recent appearance on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast, Travis Kelce opened up about how the Raiders “ruined Christmas” by beating the Kansas City Chiefs as his girlfriend Taylor Swift watched on from the stands.
“We got our [behind] beat by the [freaking] Raiders on Christmas. [Freaking] ruined Christmas, mother[censored],” Kelce admitted on the podcast. “[Antonio Pierce], he had those dudes were ready to brawl out there on the field. One hundred percent man.”
While it certainly wasn’t the way he wanted to spend his first Christmas with his new girlfriend, he Kelce did acknowledge that the loss was a turning point for him and the team.
“And I love that [stuff]. I was like, man if we play with that kind of edge, or that kind of toughness, that kind of like don’t [mess] with us mentality, we won’t be stopped. And it just kind of ended up like that. But that Raiders game was definitely a turning point,” Kelce said.
Ultimately, the Chiefs were able to turn their season around and win the Super Bowl. So maybe they actually have the Raiders to thank for providing a turning point in their season.
