Last week, Taylor Swift made headlines after she donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe page for Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed in a shooting that occurred during the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade. And it looks like her boyfriend Travis Kelce has made a sizable donation to the victims of the shooting, as well.
Last week, Travis Kelce made two $50,000 donations through his Eighty-Seven and Running Foundation to a GoFundMe page belonging to the Reyes Family, whose two young daughters ages 10 and eight both suffered gunshot wounds during the shooting and were treated at the hospital.
The goal of the GoFundMe campaign was set at $100,000. But thanks to the donation from many generous donors including Kelce – who matched that total himself – the campaign will likely double that goal.
A GoFundMe representative confirmed to CNN that the donations were indeed from Kelce and his foundation.
The Reyes family has received quite a bit of support from the Kansas City Chiefs community in the wake of the shooting as Chiefs’ star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany also visited the girls as they continued to recover.
It was a senseless act of violence, but it’s clear that the community is rallying in support.
