Ever since he began dating pop sensation Taylor Swift earlier this year, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has become undeniably one of the most popular athletes on the planet. But apparently, his popularity does not extend to Dallas, Texas.
Over the weekend, Travis Kelce attended a Dallas Mavericks playoff game alongside Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittney. During the game, the arena’s camera found the star football players sitting courtside and showed them on the video board for fans to see. But while Mahomes and his wife got loud cheers from fans, Kelce did not.
As Us Weekly reports, the crowd actually booed Travis Kelce when he was shown on the video board.
“The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs player looked surprised, dropping his jaw as his placed his hands on his chest, but Kelce seemed to take it in stride, chuckling and clapping as the camera panned over to his quarterback. The crowd roared for Patrick, who turned around to rev up the crowd,” Us Weekly reports.
Obviously, it’s pretty horrible news that Kelce was booed like this, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

It’s not clear why the crowd booed Kelce, but it certainly wasn’t a warm reception.
