Tom Brady took home his third Super Bowl MVP award on Sunday night, which also meant that he took home a brand new Chevy Colorado – which was awarded to the Patriots quarterback for winning player of the game honors. If you’re like me, you probably saw the post-game ceremony and thought, “Tom Brady probably doesn’t need a new truck.” Apparently, Tom Brady agreed.
The quarterback told WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan that he was planning on giving the truck to Malcolm Butler – the rookie cornerback who came away with the clutch, game-ending interception on the goal line – instead.
“I would love to give him the truck. I would love to do that. I’m going to figure out how to make that work,” Brady said.
There are apparently some legal hurdles that Brady and his people need to tackle before the truck is officially Butler’s, but it sounds like it’s only a matter of time. Regardless, it’s a pretty cool gesture by Brady to reward the undrafted rookie whose amazing play helped the Patriots to their fourth title since the turn of the century.
And if Butler doesn’t want the truck, I might know a broke blogger who could use a new ride.
