When Tom Brady announced his retirement from the NFL back in February, it was met with quite a bit of skepticism after he previously came out of retirement once already. And as it turns out, people were right to be skeptical because it sure sounds like he was ready to come out of retirement once again this team.
In a recent Instagram post, Tom Brady admitted that he actually planned to come out of retirement once again in May before his friends threw him a surprise retirement party, which he claims convinced him not to come out of retirement again.
“PS: The only downside to 2023 was when I was about to unretire in May and my friends threw a surprise retirement party. Kind of forced my hand,” Brady said at the end of his caption, adding a crying laughing emoji.
When he initially announced his retirement back in February, Brady insisted that he would be retiring for good this time, but he bizarrely refused to close the door on a return to the NFL back in April, which could be related to this confession that he was considering coming out of retirement once gain.
We’ll have to see whether or not Brady entertains another comeback after this confession.
