Changes are coming to the Houston Texans.
For the first time since entering the NFL in 2002, the Texans are overhauling their uniforms. While the franchise hadspreviously introduced alternate uniforms and helmets, their base navy home and white away uniforms have remained the same since their inaugural season more than two decades ago.
On Monday, we got our first look at Houston’s new white away uniforms. After a glimpse of new threads leaked on the message board Reddit, Texans owner Cal McNair responded to the leaked image by posting an official image of wide receivers Nico Collins and Tank Dell wearing the new white uniforms.
“Leaked pic? How about a real photo of Nico and Tank!? Way more to come in April!” McNair posted in the Reddit thread.
Texans owner Cal McNair posted these on Reddit, and the team tweeted it out, so I’d say we have one of Houston’s new uniform sets right here. pic.twitter.com/XM11cfMfhh

While it isn’t a complete look at the Texans’ new uniforms, the official picture reveals an enlarged wordmark across the chest, a new style of jersey numbers and updated piping on the sleeves. Houston’s navy helmets appear to remain largely the same and it remains to be seen whether the Texans will keep the “battle red” alternate helmets they wore on multiple occasions during the 2023 season.
Presumably, the “more to come” that McNair referred to includes new home and alternate uniforms to be unveiled next month. Texans jerseys figure to be a hot commodity moving forward thanks to the instant success the defending AFC South champs found in quarterback C.J Stroud’s rookie season.
