Every year, the Met Gala is one of the biggest and most exclusive events in the world, featuring only the most famous and influential celebrities on a strictly invite-only basis. Given the exclusivity of the event, it seems like a perfect event for Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to make a public appearance. But it doesn’t sound like they’re going to be there, after all.
According to a report from TMZ, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have declined their invitation to the Met Gala and will not be attending the star-studded affair.
“Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce won’t make their big debut at the Met Gala, because they’re passing on soaking up the spotlight at fashion’s biggest night,” TMZ reported this week.
“Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … the Grammy winner and NFL superstar were each issued individual invitations to the Met Gala, but both have RSVP’d “no” to the celeb-packed evening.”
TMZ points out that Swift’s concert schedule might have played a role in her decision to skip the Met Gala this year as she is set to continue her Era’s Tour in France that same week.
Anyone hoping to see their Met looks is likely disappointed.
