John Bowlen, son of Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, was arrested for a DUI in California this weekend. The possible heir apparent to Colorado’s NFL team tried to use his connections to get out of trouble. Seriously.
According to TMZ, after getting pulled over at 2 p.m., Bowlen allegedly told cops “Do you know who my father is?” in an attempt to bypass the justice system. Fortunately, Bowlen’s pleas failed as he was booked for a DUI.
Sadly, it’s not the first time Bowlen attempted to use his father’s prominence as a shield. Back in 2015, after Bowlen was arrested for domestic violence, he claimed he was “blood of the city,” and that he was a friend of the mayor. Clearly, Bowlen is a privileged P.O.S. who thinks his connection to the Broncos means he’s above the law. He’s not.
Getting (allegedly) drunk and driving is incredibly stupid. Bowlen could have killed himself or worse, someone else. Hopefully, this is the last time he gets in trouble with the police and endangers the lives of people on his warpath.
Grow the hell up Mr. Bowlen. You’re a 31-year-old man with enough wealth to last you a lifetime. The Broncos can go on without you.
