CenturyLink Field is already home to the Guinness World Record for loudest stadium on Earth, and that’s with just 67,000 screaming fans — okay, technically 68,388 people were on hand for the achievement, set against the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 15th. Now, imagine 2,000-3,000 more seats built straight up in what is now a large opening in the south end zone. And that’s not all: the new seats will reportedly be metal bleachers — the same type of seating that currently comprises the rowdy Hawk’s Nest at the opposite end of the stadium.
If reports late Thursday out of Seattle are to be believed, the additional seating appears to be the plan for the 2014 NFL season. And, if it actually happens, God help everyone in that stadium without earplugs industrial-strength safety earmuffs. Seriously.
