The NFLPA released its annual findings on players’ merchandise sales on Monday. For the second year in a row, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson led the NFL in products sold.
Apparently, the 12th man fever can’t be satiated.
The NFLPA tracked data from March 1, 2014 to February 28, 2015 for its findings. While Peyton Manning did lead the league in merchandise sales during the third quarter of the year, Wilson overtook him in the fourth (insert fourth quarter clutch jokes about Wilson and Manning here).
Still, while Wilson may have beaten Manning in overall merchandise sales in consecutive years now, there is one realm where Manning and his fantastic foreehad reigns supreme: the bobblehead.
Peyton Manning led player bobblehead sales. Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson was the only non-quarterback in the top 10 for bobblehead sales (No. 9).
Long live Peyton’s forehead.
The top 15 merchandise movers in the NFL last year were as follows:
1. Russell Wilson
2. Peyton Manning
3. Tom Brady
4. Colin Kaepernick
5. Aaron Rodgers
6. Dez Bryant
7. Richard Sherman
8. J.J. Watt
9. Marshawn Lynch
10. Johnny Manziel
11. Jason Witten
12. Drew Brees
13. Rob Gronkowski
14. LeSean McCoy
15. Andrew Luck
Are you laughing at Johnny Manziel landing in the top ten? I’m laughing at Johnny Manziel landing in the top ten.
