A couple of weeks ago, it was announced that Seattle Seahawks cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner would each face four-game suspensions for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Browner dropped his appeal and began his late-season vacation this weekend. Sherman, however, must have noticed he could squeeze in a stat-padding game against the lowly Arizona Cardinals before his appeal hearing (scheduled for December 14th).
And pad his stats he did. Sherman led a dominating Seahawks performance with two demoralizing first half interceptions — an early pick-6, followed by another just before halftime. After the second pick, Sherman proceeded to dig the Cardinals’ proverbial grave — it was 31-0 at that point — to which the referee didn’t take too kindly. As Sherman pranced off the field, he spun around and shot a “good job” thumbs up to the ref, who probably would have thrown another flag if he had any left.
