Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette was released from a Dallas hospital on November 5th after sustaining a scary neck injury during the team’s November 1st game against the Dallas Cowboys.
On his way home from the hospital, Lockette ran across a group of homeless people and he decided to make a quick detour according to a new report by TMZ Sports. Lockette immediately told his driver to drive to McDonald’s where he bought 100 cheeseburgers. The wide receiver then returned to the group of homeless people, where he helped distribute the food to those in need.
TMZ Sports was able to verify the story after contacting Lockette’s dad Earl:
“He had a neck brace on while he was passing out the burgers,” Earl Lockette tells us … “So some people were like, ‘What happened to you?’ But Ricardo didn’t try and bring attention to who he was.”
“Some people knew who he was. But this was more about Ricardo seeing people who were in worse shape than him, and wanting to help them however he could.”
Lockette will miss the rest of the season as he tries to rehabilitate his neck. We wish him a full and speedy recovery.
