Throughout his six seasons as a starter in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes has been ridiculously successful, leading his team to the Super Bowl four times and winning three of those games. He’s established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in NFL history already, but it sure hasn’t been because of his speed.
As the NFL Combine kicked off from Indianapolis this week, Patrick Mahomes took to social media to poke fun at himself for the way that he performed when he was taking part in the NFL Scouting Combine back in 2017.
When it was time for Mahomes to run the 40-yard dash during his combine, he infamously ran a pretty putrid time of 4.8 seconds. And this week, he begged the NFL Network not to remind anyone of his time.
Watching @NBAonTNT and trying to see if my man Charles is going to pick against the chiefs again in the next round! 😂😂😂 @AdamLefkoe

“As the combine starts this week! All i ask is that @nflnetwork doesn’t use my 40 overlay anymore,” Mahomes said in a post on X, the social media website formerly known as Twitter.
Unfortunately for Mahomes, the NFL Network simply couldn’t resist.

At least Mahomes seems to have quite a sense of humor about the whole thing. Plus, it’s clear that he’s fast enough to become one of the most dominant quarterbacks in history.
