Josh Allen and the Bills took care of business on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Denver Broncos 31-7 in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs. In a game where quarterback Josh Allen struggled to be consistent in throwing the ball at times, he reminded Denver of his physicality and effectiveness as a runner, finishing the game with eight carries for 46 yards.
As dominant as Buffalo looked, Allen revealed to reporters that he had one dicey moment with the refs. During the game referee Bill Vinovich spoke with Allen on the sidelines, and Allen was asked about the moment in his postgame media session.
“I wasn’t happy with what was going on and I was yelling a little bit, and he said, ‘Don’t be yelling.’ So my bad. Sorry,” Allen said of the incident, according to Pro Football Talk.
Fans reacted to Allen’s revelation on social media.
“Why would he stop whining for calls at this point? Allen and Mahomes cry for calls (and get a lot) more than any other players in the league. Even the camera operators know to focus on Allen/Mahomes after most plays to show them complaining,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Josh is the master of flops. Really embarrassing because he so talented. No need Josh grow up,” one an added.
“There are times when it’s justified but Josh is a bit of a crybaby trying to get refs to help,” added someone else.
“How about throwing a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty instead of bowing down to Allen,” one fan wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see if Allen cleans up his act after the reprimand.
